It’s that time of year again already where it’s dark all of the time – you wake in darkness, you eat dinner in darkness and your wooly jumpers are making their first appearances for the season.
Halloween and Bonfire Night are done for the year, Christmas is peaking around the corner and you might well be considering making a long drive to visit the family during the festive holiday season.
Here are a few things to consider checking before you go…
Check the pressure and tread on your tyres, it can be a big expense to buy new ones but safety must come first.
2. WASHER FLUID
Fill it up – we call this part of the ‘pre-flight check’, at this time of year you don’t have to go far without needing to wash your windows. Check your oil while you’re at it.
3. WINDOW WIPERS
Replace them if needed – they kind of go hand in and with number 2.
4. CHECK YOUR LIGHTS
You’ll be using them more often in the darker, colder months so make sure they’re all working – carrying spare bulbs is a good idea too.
5. CARRY A ‘WINTER KIT’
- Ice scraper
- First aid kit
- Extra hats and blankets
- Jump Leads
- Electronics charger
- Basic tools for repairs
So there you have it – it’s a great idea to follow all of this up with a thorough service for your peace of mind.
